Ponza – a pearl a stone’s throw from Rome

Forget the heat of central Rome! Discover the enchanting panorama and the relaxing atmosphere of the largest of the Pontine islands, a small island in the Tyrrhenian Sea located one hour from the Lazio coast! It is characterized by great seafood cuisine and genuine wines.
It is not easy to get around, because most of the coves can only be reached by boat but it is worth it.
It is no coincidence that transparent and fish-rich backdrops attract thousands of diving enthusiasts every year. But Ponza is not only sea: it is full of historical and naturalistic heritages to be discovered. Colonized by the Greeks and Romans, Ponza preserves a series of Roman structures ranging from the port to the imperial villas, from the swimming pools to the fish ponds and the Bourbon intervention is also visible throughout the island. Venturing on foot along the less frequented hamlets allows you to admire panoramic views and unforgettable sunsets.

The thrill of visiting Ponza and Palmarola and swimming in turquoise and crystal clear waters is possible thanks to the daily excursions. The navigation alternates with several stops with baths in the most beautiful coves and at lunchtime a spaghetti prepared directly on the boat with water, wine and coffee will be served. The tour is also accompanied by interesting historical explanations of the captain / cicerone. From the ground it is possible, after sailing and independently, a walk to get to know the characteristic village or, alternatively, reach the Frontone beach to relax!

Transfer by train / bus from Rome to Anzio, fast ship to Ponza and vice versa, 5 hours by boat equipped with lunch on board, snorkeling and free time for walking and shopping.
